Rodney Stoker

Rodney Stoker is entering his third year as Bryan College's men's and women's cross country coach.  Year number two had great success as the men's program finished second and the women seventh in the Region XII Championship.   Sophomore Daniel Goetz received all-conference and all-region honors and a place in the NAIA Championships.  Indoor and Outdoor Track was started in 2007 and with equal success, as redshirt freshmen Goetz qualified for the indoor and outdoor championship in the 3k and 3k steeplechase.  Freshmen Josh Bradley grabbed a spot along with Goetz in the 800 meter runs at both championship meets.   "Our second year saw great changes to our program and I feel with the continued development of each athlete we will reach higher in 2007 & 2008," said Stoker.
 
Stoker graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the spring of 2000. As a Moc, he won two Southern Conference titles, and helped Chattanooga win the South Regional in 1998 to advance to the NCAA National Championships. He coached Red Bank High's Track and Field team for two years and was an assistant cross country coach at the Baylor School from 2000-2003. He received a degree in exercise science from Chattanooga in 2000.  He acquired his USATF Level I certification in February of 2006.     
 
Rodney has been married to his wonderful wife, Kimberly, for eight years and they have two boys, Owen Miles (5) and Ian Pace (8 months). They reside in Dayton, TN.  
 
 Rodney continues to train and race, with personal bests of 14:34 for 5k, 23:42 for 8k, and 30:14 for the 10k distance.
