KINGSPORT, Tenn. —
Tanner Everett threw a complete-game gem and the offense erupted for a five-run sixth inning as sixth-seeded Bryan College dispatched seventh-seeded Reinhardt University 9–1 Tuesday morning in the first round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament at Hunter Wright Stadium.
Everett — now 6–2 on the year — was the story from start to finish, working through Bryan's entire lineup nine times and allowing just three hits over 126 pitches. The right-hander stranded baserunners all morning, leaving Reinhardt hitters frustrated through nine innings of work.
Bryan's offense stayed patient early before breaking the game open in the sixth. Shortstop
Cyrus Campos delivered the big blow of the frame, lining a single to center that plated two runs — and advanced to second on a throwing error by the centerfielder — to push the Lions' lead to five. Bryan would score five times in the inning in total, blowing the game open against reliever Riley Gaskins.
Campos finished with an eye-catching line: 2-for-3 with three RBI, a double, two walks, and a sacrifice fly, reaching base multiple times throughout the afternoon. Catcher
Jayron Morris added three RBI of his own, driving home runs in both the third and eighth innings.
Reinhardt's offense never gained traction against Everett. The Eagles managed just three hits all game, stranding five baserunners and going without a meaningful hit with runners in scoring position until Cade Chamlee's sacrifice fly in the eighth produced the game's only Reinhardt run. Starter Logan Lynch absorbs the loss, falling to 5–6 after surrendering five earned runs over five innings.
The win improves Bryan to 24–23 on the season and sends the Lions into the second round. Bryan will look to carry the momentum forward and will need another strong pitching performance if they hope to advance deeper into the bracket.
