Lady Lions Soccer Falls to Brenau in Conference Match Up

DAYTON, Tenn. – Bryan College women's soccer team battled through a challenging conference matchup against Brenau University on Wednesday, ultimately falling 4-0 at home.

Despite the final score, the Lions showed resilience throughout the contest, with goalkeeper Ava Hooks anchoring the defense with several key saves. Hooks faced 14 shots from the Golden Eagles and made three crucial stops to keep her team competitive in the match.

Bryan (0-4-1, 0-2-0 conference) utilized their full roster throughout the game, with head coach, Jake Warren, making strategic substitutions to give multiple players valuable experience. The team generated offensive opportunities, recording one shot on goal and earning two corner kicks in the first half.

The Lions demonstrated strong defensive effort for much of the first period, holding Brenau scoreless until the 35th minute. Bryan continued to compete hard in the second half, with Sarah Horton registering the team's lone shot on goal.

The match provided important playing time for the Lions' developing roster as they continue to build chemistry and experience in conference play. Bryan will look to bounce back from this result as they continue their 2025 campaign.

The Lions return to action next Wednesday as they seek their first conference victory of the season at Milligan University.
