Bryan College Battles to Scoreless Draw at Tennessee Wesleyan

ATHENS, TN- Bryan College played Tennessee Wesleyan to a hard-fought 0-0 draw on Wednesday evening in Athens, with both teams unable to break through despite numerous scoring opportunities.

The Lions (1-11-3, 1-7-3) showed resilience on the road against the Bulldogs (7-7-1, 6-4-1), weathering 17 total shots from the home side while managing 10 of their own in the physical contest that saw seven yellow cards and one red card issued.

Freshman goalkeeper Justus Feit was the star of the night for Bryan, making six crucial saves to preserve the shutout. The Lions' defense held firm as Tennessee Wesleyan dominated possession and corner kicks, earning six corners to Bryan's two.

Bryan's best opportunities came from Josh Hernandez, who led the team with three shots, and Beckham Davidson and Dylan Moedano, who each registered a shot on goal. However, the Lions were unable to capitalize on their chances against a disciplined Tennessee Wesleyan defense.

The Bulldogs' attack was led by Robin Vezinhet, who took a game-high five shots, though only one tested Feit. Nicko Bellot added four attempts, while Tony Gjomemo, Julien Withrow, Logan Thompson, and Felipe dos Santos each recorded a shot on target.

The match grew increasingly physical as the final whistle approached, with the final 10 minutes seeing a flurry of cautions. Bryan's Sammy Gomez received a yellow card in the 64th minute before being shown a red card in the 89th minute, forcing the Lions to finish the match with 10 men.

Tennessee Wesleyan also saw three players booked in the closing minutes, with yellow cards issued to Julien Withrow and Ethan Campion, along with two team cautions.

The draw gives Bryan College its third tie of the season as the Lions continue their conference schedule. The result extends Tennessee Wesleyan's unbeaten streak but represents a missed opportunity for the Bulldogs to gain ground in the conference standings with a home victory.
