Bryan College Men's Golf takes Eighth at UPIKE Fall Invite

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — The Bryan College men's golf team finished eighth out of 12 teams at the UPIKE Fall Invite, held at Stonecrest Golf Course, in a performance that highlighted both the growing pains and untapped potential of a young Lions squad.

While the eighth-place finish may not reflect their ultimate aspirations, the tournament served as valuable experience for a team still finding its rhythm on the collegiate circuit. Competing against 64 golfers from across the region, the Lions demonstrated flashes of brilliance that suggest better results lie ahead.

Edward Kehl paced Bryan College with a 24th-place finish, posting rounds of 75-78-73 for a three-round total of 13-over-par 226. His closing-round 73 was particularly encouraging, showing the kind of composure and consistency that could make him a cornerstone player as the season progresses.

Hendrik Booysen claimed 39th place at 19-over 232 (76-77-79), while Jamie Edgerton followed closely in 40th with a 20-over 233 (77-76-80). The tight grouping of scores among the Lions' top performers demonstrates the depth of talent on the roster, even if it hasn't fully translated to the leaderboard yet.

Jaden Larsen rounded out the scoring lineup in 42nd place at 22-over 235 (79-79-77), benefiting from a strong final round, while Keegan Taylor finished 47th with a 25-over 238 (85-79-74). Taylor's improvement over the three days—dropping 11 strokes from his opening round to his finale—exemplifies the learning curve this young team is navigating.

With more tournament experience and continued development, the Lions have the pieces in place to climb the standings as the season unfolds. The foundation is being laid, and Bryan College fans have reason for optimism about what this talented group can achieve.
