Bryan Men's Soccer Falls to Bethel in Season Opener

The Bryan College Lions faced a tough challenge in their season opener, falling 2-0 to Bethel University on the road at Wildcat Stadium in McKenzie, TN.

Bethel struck early in the first half, with Alvin Oguta scoring the opening goal at the 28:11 mark, assisted by Stanley Isaac and Horace Avila Jr. Just two minutes later, Bethel doubled their lead with a successful penalty kick by Hubert Oduya Kompany.

Despite a solid defensive effort in the second half, Bryan was unable to break through Bethel's defense. The Lions managed six shots throughout the game, five of which were on target, but Bethel's goalkeeper Diego Camargo made crucial saves to keep Bryan off the scoreboard.

Bryan's goalkeeper, Jack Smith, made three saves to keep the game within reach, but the Lions were unable to capitalize on their opportunities.
The Lions will look to regroup and find their rhythm as they prepare for their next match.
