Grayson, KY - The Bryan College Women's Basketball traveled to KCU to battle the Knights Saturday afternoon. The Lady Lions entered the game as heavy favorites with Kentucky Christian only having 2 conference wins all season. Bryan looked to take care of business against a lesser opponent and give their starters some much deserved rest.
The game began with a 14-3 Lady Lions run capped off with a deep triple from Junior Torie Brooks (5:16). Much of the first quarter and half for that matter can be characterized by the Lady Lions defensive stats. It felt like the Knights could not get a pass through with 8 first quarter steals by seven different Bryan players. Many of the aforementioned steals generated extra offensive opportunities propelling the away team to a 47-20 halftime advantage.
The third quarter came and the Lady Lions extended their already sizable lead any chance they got. A layup by Freshman Autumn Davis made the score 71-27 (2:09) and with that Head Coach Gabe Johnson began subbing out his starters to give other players on the bench some run. Notable contributions from the fourth quarter include two free throws by Freshman Karley Gentry, a layup by Sophomore Emma Conradi, and a three pointer from Senior Kaitlynn Hennessee before she checked out for the final time. The Lady Lions comfortably won 84-48.
