Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Lions Get Bounce Back Win vs. Bluefield

DAYTON, TN-  The Bryan College Men's Basketball were back home in Summers Gym Thursday Night to take on the Bluefield University Rams. The Lions would snap a 6 game losing streak and take a big win over the Rams 73-57. The Lions were led by Freshman Caden Johnson's 16 points and Sophomore Andrew Lawrence 20 points (6-9 from three).

The game was tightly contested throughout the first half that included 6 lead changes. After Bluefield went up 17-11, it was at the 10:07 mark where Lawrence hit his first three pointer of the night to spark a run for the Lions. The Lions and Rams exchanged baskets throughout the half, it was a deep three at the buzzer from Sophomore Kheller Die to tie the game at 30-30 to give Bryan the momentum headed into halftime. 

The Lions came out in the 2nd running the offense through Josh Baugher and Caden Johnson. Both would have steals leading to easy baskets for Bryan to take a 36-30 lead out of the gate. Baugher would go on to have a stat filled sheet 8 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. After the Rams tied the ball game at 41-41 with 12:12 left to go. The Lions would catch fire from beyond the arc. Caden Johnson would start, followed by a pair from Senior Nick Roberts, but Andrew Lawrence would take over. Lawrence hit five straight threes for the Lions to put the exclamation point on the night. Coach Don Rekoske would empty the bench with just under a minute left and the Lions would roll 73-57. 

The Lions are now 7-8 overall and 5-7 in the AAC. Bluefield falls 4-10 overall and 4-6 in conference.

The Lions will be at home Wednesday 1/10 at 7:30 PM in Dayton, TN to matchup against Kentucky Christian University.
