Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Johnson Drops 33 as Lions Notch Second Straight Win

Dayton, TN-  The Bryan College Men's Basketball Team took on the visiting KCU Knights on Wednesday night. Senior Ian Johnson began the game on fire scoring the Lions first 8 points. Johnson kept his foot on the accelerator ending as the games' high scorer with 33 points.

The game was tightly contested throughout the first half that included both teams sharing the lead back and forth. Sophomore Josh Baugher put in notable contributions in the first class including several early buckets and dishes to the aforementioned Johnson for threes. Baugher stuffed the stat sheet finishing with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. The Lions entered the break tied 41-41.

The second half proved to be more of the same for Bryan on the offensive end. The visiting Knights were unable to contain the scoring explosion coming from all sides by the Lions. Sophomore Dalen Gales pitched in with two layups and a timely corner three pointer (2:51). Gales finished with 14 points and six rebounds on 5-8 shooting. KCU ramped up the full court pressure late in the game. However, good ball security from Senior Caleb Grimes, Freshman Caden Johnson, and Senior Nick Roberts sent the Lions to the line and sealed the 84-75 win.

The Lions are now 8-8 overall and 6-7 in the AAC. KCU falls to 5-10 overall and 3-8 in the AAC.
