Dayton, TNĀ - The Bryan College baseball team was home for a 3 game series against CIU starting on Thursday with a doubleheader at 5:00 and 7:00 PM. For game 1, Bryan scored in the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.
Daniel Dryden and
Danny Marquez both hit 2 home runsĀ along with home runs from
Bryson Lofton,
Keeko Garcia, and
Bradley Prince. The Lions scored 2 runs in the second inning, 5 in the third, 4 in the fourth, 8 in the fifth, and 1 in the sixth inning. Bryan takes game 1 by a score of 20-4.Ā
For game 2, CIU jumped on top quick with 2 runs in the first inning. Bryan came back in the second inning to tie it and took the lead in the third inning going up 4-2 going into the 4th inning. CIU scored 3 runs in the top of the 4th to retake the lead. Bryan would respond but only with 1 run but were able to tie things back up at 5. CIU came alive in the fifth inning scoring 4 runs to retake the lead going up 9-5 going into the bottom half of the inning. Bryan would not lay down despite the 4 run deficit they faced.

Owen NapieralskiĀ cutting the lead down to 1 run.
Devin Ogg stepped up to the plate and hit a huge grand slam to surge the Lions ahead. Bryan wins game 2 by a score of 12-9.
Along with taking games 1 and 2 over the Rams and 13 home runs total for the night, Bryan set a new single season homerun record with 94 home runsĀ this season. The record was previously set at 92 home runs.Ā
