Knoxville, TN  -  The Bryan College Softball team traveled to Knoxville to take on Johnson University in a doubleheader at 5:00 and 7:00 PM. For game 1, Johnson got on the board first in the top of the 1st inning. They went up 3-0 over the Lady Lions heading into the 2nd inning. Bryan answered with a Katie Dinger single that advanced Caitlyn Summers to 3rd and scored Ashley Twitty. The Lions are able to cut the lead to 2 going into the bottom half of the inning. Johnson scores in the bottom of the 2nd extending their lead to 5-1. Bryan was able to score again in the 3rd inning with a sac-bunt from Breanna Bumgardner that advanced Aubree Presley to 2nd and scored Lily Taylor. The Lions cut the lead to 3 still trailing 5-2 going into the bottom of the 3rd inning. Johnson extends their lead once more with a solo home run making the score 6-2. Bryan was able to score again in the 7th inning with a sac-fly by Lily Taylor that advanced Stephanie Blevins to 2nd and scored Katie Dinger. The Lions were unable to rally back and fall 6-3. 

For game 2, Johnson was the first on the board again in the bottom of the 2nd inning. They lead the Lady Lions 1-0 going into the top of the 3rd inning. Bryan scores in the 4th inning with Carli LaRocque reaching 1st on an error and advancing to 2nd and scoring Breanna Bumgardner to tie things up. Johnson scores in the bottom half of the inning to go back up 3-1. Bryan responds in the top of the 5th inning with a single from Aubree Presley that advanced Lily Taylor to 2nd and scored Stephanie Blevins. Bryan is able to hold Johnson in the bottom half of the inning. Bryan scores in the top of the 6th inning with a single from Katie Dinger that advanced Denver Hogrefe to 2nd and scored Ashley Twitty to tie things back up 3-3. Johnson responds in the bottom half of the inning to retake the lead. Bryan scores again in the top of the 7th inning starting with a fly-out from Breanna Bumgardner that brought Lily Taylor in. Ariel Holt singled advancing Carli LaRocque to 2nd and scoring Cali Green. The Lions come back and take game 2 with a score of 5-4 to split the series. 

 

• Katie Dinger went 2 for 4 with 1 run and 1 RBI.
• Haley Stahl went 2 for 4.
