Bryan Dominates Milligan 15-5

Dayton, TN - The Bryan College Baseball team took on Milligan University for game 1 of the three game series. Milligan took an early lead in the top of the first inning going up 2-0. The Buffs strike again in the top of the second inning to push the score to 4-0. Bryan is able to get on the board in the bottom half of the inning with a single by Owen Napieralski that scored Devin Ogg and Bradley Prince cutting the Milligan lead in half to make it 4-2. Bryan strikes again in the third inning with a home run by Daniel Dryden and Bryson Lofton tying the game 4-4. Milligan reclaims the lead in the top of the fourth inning with a solo homer. 

Bryan begins their rally in the bottom of the fifth inning with a double by Bradley Prince that scores Bryson Lofton and Danny Marquez. Owen Napieralski walks with the bases loaded advancing Kade Cohoon to home. Dante Morton walks with the bases still loaded bringing in Bradley Prince. Parker Cosby grounded out to second but is able to advance Owen Napieralski to third and push Devin Ogg home to put the Lions up 9-5. In the bottom of the sixth inning Bass Cooper doubles bringing home Bryson Lofton and Danny Marquez to push this lead even further to 11-5. In the bottom of the seventh inning Daniel Dryden homered again bringing in Dante Morton. Bradley Prince singles advancing Jacob Gilbert to second but hes thrown out at third but not before Danny Marquez scores pushing the lead to 14-5. The Lions invoke a run rule in the bottom of the eighth inning when Jakob Hamilton scores on a wild pitch to make it 15-5. 

Bryan takes game 1 of the three game series.

  • The Lions will be back in action to take on Milligan on February 24th for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 PM.
