Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Lions Fall to Rams on the Road

Dayton, TN- The Bryan College Men's Basketball team headed to Virginia to face the Bluefield Rams on Saturday. It was a tightly contested game, but it was the Rams coming out on top 73-85.

Sophomore Dalen Gales led the way early for the Lions with 8 first half points. But it was Kole Torres and Kheller Die off the bench who gave Bryan their first lead of the half 27-24. The first half continued to be a back and forth affair, but it was Bluefield who ended the half on a 14-7 run to go into half with a 40-43 lead.

Jamari Bostic and the Lions came out of halftime ready to go, scoring 3 early buckets and tying up the game at 46-46 forcing a Bluefield time out. After the timeout, a quick Quantavis McKinney lay-up put Bluefield back on top 46-48 with 15:20 left in the 2nd half. That was a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The Lions went cold after the timeout, going 6 minute scoreless and Bluefield going on an 8-0 run. After a Jamari Bostic layup ended the scoreless stretch, the Lions found life and made a rally eventually cutting the lead back to two (61-63) with 7:45 remaining.

Coach Don Rekoske's squad just could never take back the lead despite Bostic's 14 and Die's 9 second half points. The Lions fall on the road 73-85.

With the loss, Bryan moves to 3-4 in the AAC and 5-4 overall. Truett jumps to 3-4 in the AAC and 3-7 overall.
