Jamie Martin

Jamie Martin serves as a competitive shooting coach with the Lion 10-8 Association, an academic and competitive firearms training and leadership development program. He brings a strong commitment to athlete development, safety, and character formation. His coaching philosophy is grounded in Christian principles and aligned with the values and standards of Bryan College and the Scholastic Action Shooting Program, emphasizing discipline, integrity, and respect both on and off the range.

Coach Martin began competing in organized shooting sports during middle school, where he developed a lasting appreciation for structured training, sportsmanship, and accountability. He holds Armed Private Protective Service and Armed Active Shooter Response credentials with the State of Tennessee and has completed Federal Flight Deck Officer training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. His background includes Expert Marksman qualifications as an enlisted member of the United States Marine Corps and as an officer in the United States Air Force, reflecting disciplined training and technical proficiency.

He has participated in numerous defensive shooting and street survival training courses, which shape his emphasis on safety, situational awareness, and responsible firearms handling. In addition, he has served as an armed school security guard as required, reinforcing his commitment to student protection and secure learning environments.

Professionally, Coach Martin is a Boeing 777 instructor pilot, responsible for training and evaluating flight crews in complex, high-consequence environments. He also conducts worldwide heavy airlift operations. This experience directly influences his coaching approach through structured instruction, clear standards, and calm leadership under pressure.

Coach Martin is dedicated to mentoring student-athletes to pursue competitive excellence while developing character, faith, and personal responsibility. His goal is to prepare athletes not only for success in collegiate competition, but also for leadership and service beyond the range.
