Jayson Davidson

  • Title
    Head Coach

Jayson Davidson officially took over as the Head Coach of the Bryan Women's Soccer program in December of 2019.

Davidson is no stranger to Bryan having graduated in 2001 and played under the tutelage of hall of fame coach and athletic director, Sandy Zensen, for all four years while attending the college. Davidson is coming to Bryan from Sherwood Academy in Albany, Georgia where he has served as Assistant Principal and Soccer Program Director since 2014. Under the guidance of Davidson, the Sherwood Eagles have soared to unprecedented heights, garnering 4 state championships, 3 state runner-up finishes, and 12 consecutive region titles where Davidson went on to receive the honor of Georgia Independent Christian Athletics Association Women’s Coach of the Year in 2016.

“I am so excited to come back home to Bryan College and lead the Women’s Soccer Program,” remarked Davidson. “This place has meant so much to me since the day I arrived at Bryan 22 years ago. My wife and I have long prayed that the Lord would lead us back to Bryan, and now that prayer has been answered! Following in the footsteps of Coach Sandy Zensen and so many other great Bryan coaches is such an honor. I can’t wait to begin investing in the lives of Bryan student-athletes and give back to this great school that has given so much to me”.

Davidson saw much success while competing on the pitch for the Lions. The team was crowned TVAC Conference Champions in 1998, and after switching to the Appalachian Athletic Conference, battled their way to the AAC Conference Championship in 2000. Davidson went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration before completing his Master of Education also from Bryan. After holding down Bryan’s back line at the center-back position, his talents in the sport allowed him to continue his playing career in Sydney, Australia on the Score International Div. I player tour.

In addition to his coaching experience at Sherwood, Davidson has spent much time in the Atlanta area coaching club soccer with the AFC Lightning and United Futbol Academy.

Jayson is making the move to Dayton with his wife of 17 years, Sabrina Davidson, their 13-year-old daughter Josie, and 11-year-old son Levi.
