Nathan Adams is entering his first year as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer program. He graduated from Bryan with a degree in Communications this past spring. Adams attended Bryan for two years, but was only able to play this past season after suffering a knee injuring his first year. In his one season, he led the team in scoring, was selected Team Captain, and was named to the AAC All-Conference 2nd Team and AAC All-Tournament Team. Adams played this summer for the Chattanooga Football Club, who won the National Premier Soccer League Southeast title.
Adams stated, “I am honored to have been asked to be part of the coaching staff. I understand the unique challenge of coming straight out of college to coaching the same team that I played for. I look forward to transferring my knowledge of the sport into coaching and teaching to help the players on the team continue their development. I love learning, and I think that this is going to be a great opportunity to learn from the paradigm of coaching.”
Head Coach Joey Johnson said, “"I am excited to welcome Nate into this new role within the program. He has earned the respect of the players, staff and community and is a fantastic addition to our staff. He is a gifted young man with incredible potential to impact lives positively through the game of soccer."
Adams was recruited and played two seasons for West Virginia University before transferring to Bryan College. Over the years, he has spent time playing overseas in Holland, Germany, Argentina, and Brazil. In Brazil, he trained and played with FC Corinthians for an extended time of 7 months. In high school, he represented his state by playing for the ODP team, while being named captain. Adams furthered his ODP experience as he was called to Regional Camp. Over the years he has won 4 national titles, at both the club and the highest amateur levels, and 2 state cups.
