DAYTON, Tenn. — The Bryan College Lady Lions have secured the second automatic berth into the NAIA National Tournament, following Milligan University's victory in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament championship.
With Milligan winning both the Regular Season title and the Tournament Championship, the AAC's second automatic bid goes to Bryan College since they were the runners up of the regular season.
Bryan College has been one of the more consistent programs in NAIA women's basketball in recent years, and the automatic qualifier cements their place among the country's elite programs heading into the postseason.
"Super excited for our team to be playing in the National Tournament," said Head Coach
Matt Bollant. "We have had a great year, and we're not done yet," he continued.
The full field for the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament will be revealed during the national selection show, scheduled for Thursday, March 5 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The show will announce all at-large selections and finalize bracket assignments, giving programs across the country their first look at the complete tournament picture.
As automatic qualifiers, Bryan College will learn their seeding, region placement, and first-round opponent when the bracket is unveiled during Thursday's broadcast.
Tournament action is expected to get underway in the days following the selection show, with programs from across the country vying for a national championship.
