Dewhurst Named AAC Indoor Field Athlete Of The Week

WALESKA, GA - Bryan College freshman Aaron Dewhurst has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Indoor Field Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Dewhurst earned the recognition following an outstanding performance at the Tryon Banked College Invitational, where he placed 10th in the pole vault competition. Competing as the only NAIA athlete in the field, Dewhurst held his own against top-level NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III opponents.

The freshman cleared a height of 4.00 meters (13 feet, 1.5 inches), establishing a new school record for Bryan College in the process.

This marks Dewhurst's first weekly honor of the 2026 season, highlighting a promising start to his collegiate track and field career. His record-breaking vault demonstrates both his technical skill and competitive potential as he continues to develop in the program.

The recognition represents the fourth set of weekly honors issued by the AAC for the 2026 indoor track and field season. The conference will announce its next round of athletes of the week on February 9.
