WALESKA, GA - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 All-Conference awards, and several standout performers from the roster earned well-deserved recognition for their contributions throughout the season.
Forward
Jerry Taylor Jr. headlined the honorees, earning a spot on the AAC All-Conference Second Team. The selection reflects a standout campaign in which Taylor Jr. established himself as one of the conference's premier players, consistently delivering at both ends of the floor.
Freshman
Ty Gibbs also made his mark in his debut collegiate season, earning a place on the AAC All-Freshman Team. The honor recognizes Gibbs as one of the top first-year players in the conference and signals a bright future ahead for the young standout.
Rounding out the program's accolades,
Nick Chambless was named to the AAC Champions of Character Team — an award that goes beyond statistics to honor student-athletes who exemplify integrity, leadership, and sportsmanship on and off the court.
The trio of honors underscores a successful 2025-26 campaign for the program and speaks to the depth of talent and character within the roster.
The conference also recognized academic excellence alongside its on-court honors, announcing the AAC All-Academic Team. To qualify, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore and carry a GPA of 3.25 or higher — a standard that four Lions met with distinction.
Cal Drake,
Nick Chambless,
Nathan Landtroop, and
Haydn Moten all earned spots on the list, a testament to the program's commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as on the court.
The Lions will compete in the first round of the AAC Tournament on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
