Bryan College Earns Road Victory Over Spartanburg Methodist

SPARTANBURG, S.C.Izaiha Bredwood delivered a stellar performance with 22 points, including five three-pointers, as Bryan College pulled away in the second half to defeat Spartanburg Methodist 68-61 on Friday afternoon.

The Lions (9-11, 7-6 AAC) overcame a slow start to secure their seventh conference win of the season, using a balanced attack and strong shooting from beyond the arc in the final 20 minutes to put away the Pioneers (4-16, 2-9 AAC).

Bredwood was efficient throughout, connecting on 6-of-12 from the field and a scorching 5-of-9 from three-point range while adding seven rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes. His ability to knock down perimeter shots at crucial moments proved to be the difference in a tightly contested affair that featured seven ties and 12 lead changes.

Haydn Moten and Jerry Taylor Jr. each contributed 12 points for the Lions, with Taylor adding five rebounds, two steals, and a block. Derek Curtis came off the bench to provide a spark with eight points and five assists, while Kole Torres chipped in eight points of his own.

The Lions dominated on the glass, outrebounding Spartanburg Methodist 33-20 overall, which translated to a significant 23-10 advantage in second-chance points. Bryan also capitalized on the Pioneers' mistakes, scoring 16 points off turnovers compared to just five for the home team.

Bryan College will look to build on this road victory as they continue their AAC conference schedule.
