WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Bryan College Lions indoor track and field program launched their season in impressive fashion at the Mondo College Invitational, delivering breakout performances across multiple events while facing some of the region's top competition.

"The athletes are starting the season off strong and showing great versatility as we build momentum," said Head Coach Jasper Wilson, whose squad wasted no time making their mark on the new campaign.

Leading the charge was Aaron Dewhurst, who soared to a school record in the pole vault, clearing 3.85 meters while simultaneously earning a conference qualifying mark. The breakthrough performance set the tone for a day filled with personal achievements and team milestones.

Anthony Graybill made an electrifying debut in the 60-meter dash, clocking 7.23 seconds before adding a conference-qualifying time in the 200 meters. Meanwhile, Zayne James and Baron Bruehl each posted season-best marks in the 200m, showcasing the Lions' growing depth in the sprints.

The distance events proved equally productive for Bryan College. Bryce Dye dominated his heat in the men's 3,000 meters, crossing the finish line first in 9:26, while Mathew Pfister captured victory in his 400-meter heat with a time of 51.09 seconds.

On the women's side, Emily Cathey emerged as a dual threat, first punching her ticket to the conference meet with a 2:26 clocking in the 800 meters, then returning to win her mile heat with a personal-best time of 5:33. Jayden Bowman added the team's second conference qualifier in the 800m, and Carissa Wilson capped the day with a personal-best mile of 5:34.

The Lions left the Mondo College Invitational with eight personal bests, multiple conference qualifiers, and a school record—concrete evidence that this squad is poised for a competitive season ahead. With versatility evident across sprints, middle distance, and field events, Bryan College appears ready to build on this promising foundation as championship season approaches.
