Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lions Fall to Milligan 3-1 Despite Late Rally Attempt

ELIZABETHTON, TN – Bryan College men's soccer suffered a 3-1 defeat to RV Milligan University on Tuesday evening at Anglin Field, dropping the Lions to 0-6-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play.

The Buffaloes struck early in the contest, with Kerim Akpinar finding the back of the net in the 18th minute off an assist from Kodjo Bakou to give Milligan a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Milligan extended their lead in the second half with two quick strikes. Youseff Heggy doubled the advantage in the 61st minute with help from goalkeeper Adria Alles, before Marco Lattanzi added a third goal in the 79th minute, assisted by Asa Blake.

Bryan showed resilience late in the match, with Connor Stiles breaking through for the Lions' lone goal in the 83rd minute to prevent the shutout. The unassisted strike marked Stiles' first goal of the season.

The statistical battle told the story of the evening, with Milligan outshooting Bryan 22-8 and holding a significant 8-5 advantage in shots on goal. Bryan goalkeeper Justus Feit made five saves in the loss, while Milligan's Alles needed just four saves to secure the victory.

The Lions will look to bounce back from this setback as they continue their search for their first victory of the season. Bryan returns to action on Saturday as they take on the Eagles of Reinhardt.
