Bryan Golf Wraps Up Rhodes Spring Classic with Steady Showing

MILLINGTON, Tenn. — The Bryan College men's golf team put together a solid performance this week at the Rhodes Spring Classic, playing three rounds at the challenging Mirimichi Golf Course. Facing off against a tough field of NCAA Division III programs, the Lions saw several players put together consistent rounds and show steady progress.

Team Highlights:

  • Kevin Rothwell led the way for Bryan, finishing tied for 26th overall. He posted rounds of 81, 78, and 76 to end at +19 (235). Rothwell made five birdies across the tournament and played par 4s particularly well.

  • Caleb Royston stayed steady all weekend with rounds of 80, 79, and 79, finishing at +22 (238). He led the team in total pars with 33 and kept himself in rhythm throughout the event.

  • Matthew Johnson bounced back nicely from an 86 in Round 1 with a strong 75 in Round 2 and an 80 in Round 3. He ended at +25 (241) and tied for the team lead in birdies with six.

  • Connor Cartledge posted three solid rounds and finished tied with Johnson at +27 (243). He played a clean round on Day 2 and contributed four birdies overall.

  • Garrett Dempsey finished strong with a team-best 74 in the final round. He ended up at +27 (243) and showed resilience and grit after a tough opening round.

  • Asa Hudson rounded out the lineup, shooting a 260 over the three rounds and adding three birdies of his own.

Moving Forward:

The Lions showed some strong individual efforts and built confidence as they head into the final stretch of the spring season. With consistent play and some standout rounds, Bryan's next event will be Apr. 14,15 at the Ohio Christian Spring Invite in Williamsport, OH Crown Hill GC.
