Late-Inning Rally Lifts Bryan Baseball Over Cumberland

LEBANON, Tenn. — The Bryan College baseball team came through in the clutch on Monday afternoon, scoring three runs in the top of the ninth to pull off a 4-3 comeback win over Cumberland University.

Trailing by two runs entering their final at-bat, the Lions strung together timely hits and aggressive baserunning to complete the rally and secure their 15th win of the season.

Key Performances:

  • Logan Stradley: 2-for-4, 2 RBIs, including a game-changing RBI double in the ninth

  • Caleg Ramsey: 1-for-5, 2 RBIs with the game-winning two-run single

  • Cade Cook: 2-for-4, 1 run scored, started the ninth-inning rally with a single

  • Jake Sabo: 1-for-3, double and a walk

  • Carson Jones (W, 1-2): 2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K – shut down Cumberland in the final innings

Game Breakdown:

Bryan tied the game early at 1-1 in the second inning on a Stradley RBI single, but Cumberland responded with a pair of runs to take a 3-1 lead heading into the ninth. After being held scoreless for six straight innings, the Lions found their spark in their final chance.

  • Ninth-Inning Rally: Cook led off with a single, and Caden Hall followed with a walk. Stradley then ripped a double down the left field line to score Cook. After Jaxon Sabo was intentionally walked, Ramsey delivered the big blow with a two-run single to right, putting Bryan ahead 4-3.

Jones then retired the side in the bottom of the ninth, stranding the tying run at second to seal the dramatic win.

With the victory, Bryan improves to 15-14 on the season. The Lions head back home to face Kentucky Christian University Friday for Game 1 at 6:00 PM
