Lady Lions Outlast Johnson Royals in AAC Thriller, Improve to 9–2

Box Score DAYTON, TN- The Bryan College Lady Lions defended their home floor on Saturday, edging out the visiting Johnson University Lady Royals 74–70 in a tightly contested Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup at Summers Gymnasium.

The opening quarter belonged to Bryan, who came out energized and efficient on both ends of the floor. Sharp passing and early defensive pressure helped the Lady Lions build a 19–12 advantage after the first 10 minutes. Their momentum carried into the second quarter, where they extended the lead to 39–27 heading into halftime.

But Johnson refused to back down. The Lady Royals stormed out of the locker room with renewed intensity, stringing together a series of stops and capitalizing on fast-break opportunities. Their strong third quarter flipped the script entirely, as Johnson surged ahead to take a 57–55 lead entering the fourth.

Facing their first deficit since the opening minutes, the Lady Lions responded with poise. In the final quarter, Bryan tightened up defensively and rediscovered their offensive rhythm, outscoring Johnson down the stretch to secure the 74–70 victory.

Bryan was powered by standout performances from Molly Brown and Kaylynn Walls, who both finished in double figures and provided crucial scoring when the game tightened. Their leadership and consistency helped steady the Lions during Johnson's second-half run.

" It was great for our team to compete in a tight battle and come out on top," said head coach Matt Bollant. "Even with Johnson getting incredibly hot from the three-point line, we still found a way to win. Having such an energetic crowd behind us made a huge difference. Grateful to come away with our seventh straight victory," he continued.

With the win, the Lady Lions improve to 9–2 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 7–0.

Bryan will return to action on Wednesday, December 10, when they travel to take on Montreat College in another important AAC matchup.
