Lady Lions Cruise Past Spartanburg Methodist 78-58

DAYTON, TN – The Bryan College Lady Lions improved to 7-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play with a commanding 78-58 victory over Spartanburg Methodist on Tuesday afternoon.

Bryan jumped out to a fast start, outscoring the Pioneers 26-12 in the first quarter and never looked back. The Lady Lions shot 40 percent from the field and connected on 13 three-pointers, using balanced scoring and relentless defensive pressure to control the game from start to finish.

"We're excited to go into the break 5-0 in conference play," said head coach Matt Bollant. "We knocked down 13 three-pointers today against a zone defense, which we haven't faced much of this season, and our team really stepped up," he continued.

Three Lady Lions reached double figures in scoring. Molly Brown and Kadee Ferrell led the way with 15 points apiece, while Ashlyn Plott added 13 points off the bench. Brown was particularly effective from beyond the arc, draining four three-pointers, while Ferrell dominated inside with seven field goals and nine rebounds.

Plott provided a crucial spark off the bench, hitting all three of her three-point attempts and adding four made free throws without a miss.

Bryan's defensive intensity was a key factor, forcing 23 turnovers and converting them into 19 points. The Lady Lions recorded 17 steals, with Ashlan Crittenden leading the charge with three. The team also dished out 18 assists on 24 made field goals, showcasing unselfish play throughout the lineup.

The Lady Lions will face the Reinhardt Eagles on December 3rd in a home contest.
