Athens, Tenn. – The Bryan College Lady Lions improved to 6-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in conference play with a commanding 74-62 victory over Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
Bryan seized control in the second quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 26-7 to turn a narrow 13-15 first-quarter deficit into a 39-22 halftime advantage. The Lady Lions never looked back, maintaining their lead throughout the second half despite a spirited comeback attempt by the hosts.
"Proud of our team—winning three straight road games, all by double digits, really says a lot about who we are," said head coach Matt Bollant. I thought our second quarter was outstanding; outscoring them 26–7 proved to be the difference in the game," he continued. "I was also really pleased with our free-throw shooting, going 22-for-25 at the line. It'll be great to be back home for the next three, and we truly hope the Bryan faithful and the Dayton community come out and support this 4-0 team that's currently tied for first place in the conference."
