BARBOURVILLE, KY. – Bryan College mounted a furious second-half comeback to defeat Union Commonwealth 77-74 on Monday night at Robsion Arena, overcoming a 13-point halftime deficit to secure their second win of the season.
Trailing 40-27 at the break, the Lions (2-5, 1-1) exploded for 50 second-half points while holding Union Commonwealth to just 34, transforming what looked like a certain defeat into a thrilling conference victory.

The Lions shot a blistering 56.7% from the floor in the second half, including 50% from three-point range, compared to their sluggish 31% first-half performance.
Derek Curtis paced Bryan with a game-high 21 points on efficient 8-of-14 shooting, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. Curtis saved his best for when it mattered most, pouring in 17 of his points after halftime to fuel the comeback.
Ty Gibbs delivered a crucial performance off the bench, finishing with 12 points and a perfect 7-of-8 showing from the free-throw line. His clutch late-game free throws helped seal the victory, and he added four assists and four rebounds in 23 minutes.
Terrell Reeves provided a vital spark with 12 points on perfect 4-of-7 shooting, while
Trey Morrow contributed 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds despite battling foul trouble.
Bryan's reserves outscored Union Commonwealth's bench 35-28, with the second unit providing energy and production when the starters needed rest. The Lions also dominated the free-throw line, converting 76% (19-of-25) compared to Union's 54.5% (12-of-22).
The victory marks Bryan's first conference win of the season. The Lions will look to build momentum as they continue their 2025-26 campaign. They will hit the road on Saturday as they take on conference foe, Tennessee Wesleyan.
