Strong Day for the Lions at Midseason Meet

The Bryan College Lions cross country teams delivered their strongest showing of the season this weekend, with all seven men's runners achieving personal bests against top Division II competition, as well as two of the three women's runners also recording personal bests.

The meet served as a crucial midseason benchmark for the Lions, who used the elevated level of competition to push themselves to new heights in what Head Coach Jasper Wilson called "A good day for the Lions."

Coach's Thoughts on the Men:
"We were pushed to a higher level than we've been all year, which resulted in seven out of seven personal bests on the men's side. This was another great step forward as the team continues to grasp the 8K."

Men's Results:
    •    Tayven Guthrie – 27:22
    •    Markel Harris – 28:03
    •    Bryce Dye – 28:04
    •    Bobby Beierling – 28:14
    •    Jayden Bowman – 28:22
    •    Isaac Hickey – 28:23
    •    Aydan Cook – 30:45

The women's team also had a successful outing, with two of three runners posting personal records. Carissa Wilson led the way with a time of 23:22, followed by Emily Cathey at 24:02 and Juliana Sneed at 30:36.

Coach's Thoughts on the Women:
"Our women's team had a good day as well," Wilson added. "We had two out of three personal bests, and all three competed well, especially focusing on finishing strong."

Women's Results:
    •    Carissa Wilson – 23:22
    •    Emily Cathey – 24:02
    •    Juliana Sneed – 30:36

Looking Ahead
With just four weeks remaining in the regular season, the Lions appear to be peaking at the right time. The performance against Division II programs provides a confidence boost as the team enters the final stretch of competition.

"Overall, we competed really well against high-level Division II programs," Wilson said. "I'm excited about where we are at this midseason point as we head into the final four weeks of our season."

The Lions will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next competition and the upcoming AAC Tournament.
