DAYTON, Tenn. – The Bryan College men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision to Spartanburg Methodist on Saturday afternoon at home.
The Lions (1-11-1) found themselves in an early hole when Spartanburg Methodist's Ossian Lindberg-Haak scored just 55 seconds into the match, assisted by Rodrigo Pinheiro, setting the tone for the afternoon.
Bryan battled back in the second half, with
Josh Hernandez netting the equalizer in the 52nd minute to level the score at 1-1. The unassisted goal marked Hernandez's first of the season and briefly gave the Lions hope of mounting a comeback.
However, Spartanburg Methodist responded quickly. Just over a minute later, Anthoney Bedolla Menera restored the Pioneers' lead at 53:08, scoring unassisted for his first goal of the campaign.
The Pioneers pulled away late in the match with two goals in quick succession. Thomas Pineros extended the lead to 3-1 in the 81st minute, followed by Joaquin Gillum's strike just 69 seconds later to make it 4-1 and seal the victory.

Justus Feit played the full 90 minutes, making four saves while facing eight shots on goal. The Lions managed nine shots on target from 17 total attempts but couldn't capitalize on their opportunities.
Caleb Randles led Bryan's offensive effort with three shots, all on goal, while Hernandez and
Dylan Moedano added three and two shots respectively.
Levi Miller and
Carson Haiflich each recorded one shot on goal in the losing effort.
Bryan will look to bounce back in their next outing as they continue their season. They will host Johnson University next Wednesday at The Den
