The Bryan College volleyball team went the distance against Tennessee Wesleyan in a thrilling five-set match on September 17, 2024. Despite a strong showing, the Lions came up just short, falling 3-2 in a back-and-forth contest.

First Set:

Tennessee Wesleyan came out firing, taking the first set 25-14. Bryan struggled to get going offensively, while Tennessee Wesleyan capitalized on key plays from Amya Sutton and Shante Smith, who led their team's attack.

Second Set:

Bryan bounced back in the second set, winning 25-20. Strong play from Maddison Seabolt, who tallied 12 kills in the match, and Canaan Drake, who added nine kills and six blocks, helped Bryan find their rhythm and even the score at one set apiece.

Third Set:

The third set was tightly contested, but Tennessee Wesleyan edged out Bryan 25-23. Despite Bryan's defensive efforts, with 14 digs from Elliott Brock, Tennessee Wesleyan's Olivia Miller and Sutton continued to put pressure on the Lions.

Fourth Set:

Bryan showed resilience, taking the fourth set 25-19. Lillie Van Metre led the charge with 13 kills, while Abby Cross dished out 30 assists, keeping the Lions in control and forcing a decisive fifth set.

Fifth Set:

In the final set, Tennessee Wesleyan managed to pull ahead, taking it 15-11. Although Bryan fought hard, Tennessee Wesleyan's balanced attack proved too much, with Sutton and Smith continuing to deliver key points.
