BLUEFIELD, VA - On April 23, 2024, the Bryan College Lions secured a doubleheader sweep against Bluefield University at Graham Rec Park in Bluefield, VA. The first game was closely contested, ending in a 3-2 win for Bryan.

Game 1 Highlights:

The scoring started early for Bryan when Aubree Presley hit an RBI single in the first inning to bring in Breanna Bumgardner. Bluefield tied the game at 1-1 in the second inning after a Bryan error allowed a run. The teams traded runs again with Bryan's Savanna Beard hitting an RBI double in the fourth to score Jade Richards, and Bluefield evening it out in the third with another run due to a Bryan error.

The winning run came in the fifth when Vanessa Hart's single brought Cali Green home. Bryan's pitcher Payton Reasons led the team from the mound, striking out ten and allowing only one earned run across seven innings.

Game 2 Overview:

Bryan kept up their strong performance in the second game. Aubree Presley's two-run homer in the first set the tone. The team extended their lead with a six-run burst in the sixth inning, featuring key hits and aggressive base running.

Pitcher Denver Hogrefe threw a complete game and also added two hits of her own. The game ended with Bryan winning 12-4, capping off the sweep with a strong offensive showing.
