Williamsburg, KY - The Bryan College Softball team headed to Williamsburg, KY to take on #9 ranked University of the Cumberlands Patriots. The Lady Lions fell just short to the Patriots in a 3-1 loss. With the loss Bryan moves to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in conference. 

It was the Patriots who struck first in the bottom of the 1st with an RBI single that brought a runner in from second. The Lions would hold strong until the Patriots hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 3rd to take a 2-0 lead. 

It was a defensive battle, until the Lady Lions got on the board in the top of the 6th with a Savanna Beard sacrifice fly that brought home Payton Reasons and cut the lead to 2-1. The Patriots would get their final run of the game in the bottom of the 6th on a double to left center. Bryan would get one more crack at it in the top 7th. After a Keanna Burd walk, Cali Green would come in to pinch run. The next batter up would be Lily Taylor who would single to center field to move Green to 2nd. Despite having two on, the Lions were unable to bring another in. 

Payton Reasons would pitch 6.0 innings with 3 strikeouts while also going 1-3 at the plate. Haley Stahl and Breanna Bumgardner would also go 1-3 at the plate on the night.

The Lady Lions are back home Thursday 3/14 for a doubleheader vs Union College beginning at 4:00 PM .
