Bryan Men's Soccer Ends Season in NAIA Tournament

The Bryan College men's soccer team concluded their remarkable 2024 campaign in the first round of the NAIA Tournament, falling to Rio Grande 5-0 on November 21 at the UC Soccer Complex in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Key Stats:

  • Jack Smith anchored Bryan in goal with a season-high 9 saves against relentless pressure from Rio Grande, who totaled 21 shots, including 14 on target.
  • Bryan managed 1 shot on goal, taken by Owen Morales, but couldn't convert against Rio Grande's defense.

Game Highlights:

  • Rio Grande struck first in the 35th minute with a goal from David Palade, assisted by Rafael Kawata.
  • Three quick goals in the second half by Estevao Goncalves, Scott Gray, and another from Palade put the game out of reach.
  • A late goal in the 89th minute by Pablo Gomez, assisted by Felipe Braga, sealed the victory for Rio Grande.

Reflections on the Season:
