The Bryan College men's soccer team concluded their remarkable 2024 campaign in the first round of the NAIA Tournament, falling to Rio Grande 5-0 on November 21 at the UC Soccer Complex in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Key Stats:

• Jack Smith anchored Bryan in goal with a season-high 9 saves against relentless pressure from Rio Grande, who totaled 21 shots, including 14 on target.
• Bryan managed 1 shot on goal, taken by Owen Morales, but couldn't convert against Rio Grande's defense.

Game Highlights:

• Rio Grande struck first in the 35th minute with a goal from David Palade, assisted by Rafael Kawata.
• Three quick goals in the second half by Estevao Goncalves, Scott Gray, and another from Palade put the game out of reach.
• A late goal in the 89th minute by Pablo Gomez, assisted by Felipe Braga, sealed the victory for Rio Grande.

Reflections on the Season:

Despite the loss, Bryan's season was highlighted by their impressive performance in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, where they earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament and secured a berth in the NAIA Tournament. 

Bryan finishes the season with a record of 11-4-3.
