Dayton, TN - Bryan College Men's Golf team took 4th overall at the Fincastle Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
The two-day tournament was held at par at 70 on a tough 6772 yard mountainous terrain course at Fincastle Country Club.
As a team, the Lions finished 4th overall in a competitive group of 11 teams in Bluefield. Finishing with a team score of +42 for the weekend.
Bryan was led by two all-tournament award winners in Eli Winkler (+4) and Kevin Rothwell (+6) who finished 3rd in the individual standings. Eli started day one shooting even par, producing a pretty clean card with fourteen pars, two bogeys, and 2 back nine birdies on the 13th and 17th. Eli finished the week with a 74 on Tuesday, topping off his best overall finish and leading the tournament with 25 Pars made.
Rothwell, who finished 4th overall, started Day one with an up & down round with 4 birdies, 4 bogeys, two doubles, and 1 triple bogey. It was day two where Rothwell made his move, cleaning up his card with only one bogey and one double, but scoring with three birdies, and a 17th hole eagle, finishing with a 68. Rothwell's 68 was one of only two under par rounds all weekend.
Aydin Norman (+10), Joyner Caldwell (+22), and Nolan Chandler (+34) all had strong performances to help lift Bryan College to its 4th place finish overall.
