MONTREAT, NC - The Bryan College Baseball team took on Montreat in game three and four of the series in the road.Â
For game one of the doubleheader Montreat was the first to strike in the bottom of the first inning.
Keeko Garcia homered in the top of the third to tie things up at 1.
Bass Cooper homered in the top of the fifth inning to go ahead. With a
Parker Cosby single in the fifth
Owen Napieralski scored to put the Lions up 3-1. Montreat would fight back to go back ahead in the bottom of the fifth. Bryan would respond in the top of the sixth after
Bradley Prince grounded out, he advanced
Danny Marquez to score to tie things back up. Montreat responded in the eighth inning followed by Bryan in the top of the ninth. A
Daniel Dryden single scored
Parker Cosby to put the Lions up again 6-5. Montreat would rally in the bottom of the ninth scoring two runs to win 7-6.
Bryan scored first in the second game with a
Bryson Lofton homer that scored
Daniel Dryden and
Parker Cosby. Bryan went up early in the first inning 3-0. Montreat would respond quickly in the bottom half of the inning with a 2-run homer and eventually would tie things up 3-3. Montreat would strike again in the bottom of the second with a sac fly to go up 4-3. Bryan would even things up in the top of the fifth with a passed ball that scored
Parker Cosby.
Danny Marquez would have a solo homer to put the Lions ahead 5-4.
Bradley Prince extend the lead in the top of the sixth with a 2-run homer putting the Lions ahead 7-4. Montreat would try to rally but would only score one run the bottom of the seventh to make it 7-5.Â
Bryan would win the series 2-1.
