Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Lions Fall Short on the Road against Milligan

Dayton, TN - The Bryan College Men's Basketball was on road Saturday to take on the Milligan University Buffalo. Despite a strong late run from the Lions, Bryan would fall on the road 82-78.

It was a tightly contested first half with both teams combining for 5 lead changes. It was also a battle of two potential All-Conference players in Bryan's Jamari Bostic and Milligan's Follie Bogan. That match up didn't disappoint as Bostic had 17 first half points to keep Bryan in the game. But Bogan would match, as he had 14 of 28 points in the first half as well to give Milligan a 38-44 half time lead.

Coming out of half time it felt like it would be all Buffalo as they stretched the lead to 12 (43-55), but a big three pointer from Ian Johnson at the 14:43 mark would spark a run from Bryan with Caleb Grimes and Jamari Bostic putting in back to back layups to cut the lead to 5. With another run from Milligan to go back up 8 points (64-72), but a team technical on Milligan at 5:43, would allow Ian Johnson to knock down 2 free throws, and give Bryan the ball back where Johnson would get an easy layup off a Dalen Gales assist on the ensuing possession to bring Bryan within two (70-72).

With both teams battling it out down the stretch, a Caleb Grimes layup would tie it up 78-78 with 26 seconds left. But it would be Milligan's Bogan who would make a floater with 3 seconds left to give Milligan a 78-80 lead. After a Bryan turnover and 2 more Milligan Free throws, the Lions eventually falling 78-82.

With the win Bryan falls to 6-5 overall and 4-5 in the AAC. Milligan goes to 5-6 overall in the AAC and 5-4 in the AAC.
