Lady Lions Take Care Of Bears At Home

DAYTON, TN - The Bryan College Women's Basketball team took on the Truett Mcconnell Bears on Wednesday night. The Lady Lions started out hot, ending the first quarter up 25-6. Seniors' Allissa Mulaski, Samantha Russell, and Junior Torie Brooks would get the night started with three straight three pointers.

Despite the offensive onslaught from Bryan, their work on the defensive end was arguably more impressive. The Lady Lions would notch a season-high 14 steals with half of those coming from Senior Kaitlyn Hennessee. Hennessee would finish with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals.

As the game progressed, head coach Gabe Johnson emptied the bench. Freshman Paige Moody knocked home a triple with 1:53 left in the third. Moody finished with a career high 11 points. Early in the fourth quarter, Samantha Russell hit her third triple, finishing with 21 points. From there, it was easy for the rest of the bench to finish the game (80-46).

With the win Bryan moves to 5-4 overall and 5-1 in the AAC. Truett McConnell falls to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the AAC.

Looking Forward: The Lady Lions are back on the road to play Bluefield University on 12/2 at 2 PM.
