Hennessee, Russell notch Double-Double in Double Digit Win over Bulldogs

Box Score DAYTON, TN - Kaitlynn Hennessee and Samantha Russell covered up the boards Tuesday night grabbing ten and twelve respectively. Hennessee's total is of particular note with it including seven on the offensive end. Both of these ladies effort's on the glass and in the scoring department (Hennessee 19, Russell 15) propelled the Lady Lions to a 73-55 win over rival TWU.

The Lady Lions would gain the lead early with 6:38 in the first quarter, a Hennessee three point shot would give them the 5-3 advantage. There would never be another lead change after this point. Bryan would continue to pour it on from deep (39.1%) and in the paint (34). The Lady Lions would prove to be dominant on both ends throughout the night.

"We are hanging our hat on the defensive end," said head coach Gabe Johnson. "It has really made all the difference this season."

This holds to be true as off the bench two defensive minded guards Neveah Majors and Autumn Davis come in to terrorize opposing guards. Majors would turn her defense into offense with two steals and ten points. Torie Brooks would also put up fifteen points with three three pointers made and a few driving finishes. Her efforts, along with others would make it an easy win over the Bulldogs

With the win Bryan College lands at 3-0 in the AAC and 3-1 overall. TWU moves to 1-2 in the AAC and 2-2 overall.

Looking Forward:
The Lady Lions are back in Summer's Gymnasium versus the visiting Columbia College Koalas on 11/18 at 2:00 PM.
