Dayton, TN -The 8th seeded Bryan College Women's Soccer team hosted the 9th seeded Brenau University  Tigers Tuesday night for round 1 of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament. The Lady Lions put on a strong defensive performance, but fell in overtime 1-0 to Brenau to end their 2023. 
Both teams came ready for tournament play as possession was back and forth in the early going. The Lions put 3 shots on in the first half, but to no avail as the game went into half 0-0. 
Brenau grabbed a hold of the possession battle in the 2nd half, sending in 10 shots to Bryan's 4. But a big performance from Alyssa Karnes kept the Lady Lions in it, with her 10 Full Time saves. Still 0-0 heading into to Overtime, the Lady Lions held up defensively despite the 2 shots on goal from the Tigers in the 1st OT. In the 2nd OT it was Brenau who took control and put one in the back of the net at the 102:00 mark to take the 1-0 win.

The Lady Lions finish the season overall 7-10-1 and  6-8-1 in conference.
